YES....it's been a while since my last post. Impulse is expanding, and thus I have been working very diligently on my newest projects which you will see this year. A brand spanking new Website & Blog is in the works! I have also hired an incredibly talented new team member which I will introduce soon, plus I am finally implementing so many ideas which I have had in my head for a long, long time. Finally, it will come to pass! I am excited and it feels really good.

I have also been out of the country and will also be posting some of my most recent photos of the DR taken just a couple of weeks ago while visiting my dad!

The Polar Bear Dip!!

Would you go for a dip in Lake Ontario in -17 degree weather?? Well these brave guys did! And they did it all for a good cause....Inn From The Cold, which is a homeless shelter in Newmarket, Ontario. My old friend, Carmine, organized the charity to raise money for the shelter. I gotta admit......it was soooooo much fun to photograph!!!!!! Check out these pics!

Here's Carmine......the 1st to go in!This is the official 1st Annual Dip.......so I hope we can get others more involved next year. (I'll be there to shoot it)

Helping the Homeless on Photo Night

On a cold, winter day, Bobby walks through the doors of the soup kitchen at The Knight's Table. He slowly approaches the hot table as he starts to take his gloves off. There, he is served with a delicious home-made meal. He sits down, all by himself, and enjoys his meal. His smile is warm. I ask him...."Bobby...come over here, I'd love to take your photo". "Me? Really? Are you sure?" he answers. "Okay". His face radiated in front of the camera. He felt special...and rightfully so...for he is very special. Shortly after the shoot, all I could hear for a long time was "Thank-you....thank-you so much.....thank-you")

I really enjoyed photographing all of the wonderful people that night, along with their families. Each one received a few 5x7's for Christmas. Many were either homeless, or struggling barely able to make ends meet. Not being able to afford a photographer to capture photos of their children, they did not hesitate in showing their greatfulness.

This mom and daughter pair were so cute. When in front of the camera, mommy could not stop laughing, which was so contagious that it got passed on to her daughter! They were giggling like little school girls and could not stop! It was so cute....I just had to laugh myself!These twins, David & Kevin, were so adorable. They kept on asking me on-going questions about my camera equipment.Here's our young single mom Tia and her family.......with her newest arrival, Violet, who is only 2 weeks old!

Me and Glendon photographed about 25 individuals and families that night. It was an awesome night! And we were blessed. Thank-you to the staff and volunteers at Night's Table for working so hard in order to keep this kitchen open, and especially to Castro and his team for preparing all the delicious hot meals daily. (Oh...and thanks Paula for helping me put the prints into frames :o)

1st place for Maryam + Ali !!!

I'm so excited to learn that one of Maryam & Ali's photo which I took this summer from their e-session came in 1st place at the 2008 WPPI 8x10 International Competition!!! Congratulations to my very sweet couple....I know it was that special look that Ali gave Maryam. :o)

Here's the storeyline: It was one of our last photos of the session.......very hot summer day.....downtown Toronto cafe. Maryam was feeling the heat and so she spontaneously just roughly tied up her hair. I was observing Ali watching her and just had to capture his priceless expression. Can you just see the passion in him for her?!?! I titled this: "She's So Incredible"

On Halloween day I had the special privilege of photographing my super sweet photographer friends Tiffany & Alex from Life Images with their most adorable little boys, Jomei and Tayus (aka "Tay Tay"). Can I tell you how cute they are? Just take a look at them in these photos! We ended up shooting the entire day!......until the sun came down (which resulted in some pretty dramatic images which you'll see below). The boys' various and ever so cute expressions were so much fun to capture. Take a look at what we got......Enjoy!

We did a little bit of trespassing after finding this really cool rooftop. After a little while......it seemed like these 2 were really enjoying their intimate session together :o)

Silvina + Andrew MARRIED !!

When Silvina & Andrew first came into my studio I felt such a strong connection with them. They are such real, easy-going, fun and compassionate people! Over time, I could easily see into Silvina's heart through all of her beautiful, caring e-mails she sent me before her wedding date. We got along very well.....maybe because our names are so similar???? HA! :o) Well, their day had finally come...and I was honored to be a witness to their beautiful day! Here's a pre-ceremony shot with Maria on her Mac and Jocelyne in the background trying to get a roller out of her hair! She's so cute :o) It was great hanging out with you and chatting Jocelyne!the guys.......Silvina's brother seeing her for the first time..... Silvina made such a beautiful bride.....talk about perfect skin!

They are the freshly born twin nephews of Silvina who were really anxious to come into this world...so...being born quite prematurely, mommy & daddy needed to make sure they were well protected with their little mitties and all. Photo Night!! (for the Homeless)

I am so excited to be organizing this special event. I have recently connected with the wonderful people at the Knight's Table, which is a soup kitchen helping the homeless in Brampton. We are going to be holding a special "Photo Night" where families and individuals can come and have their portrait taken. I want single moms/dads who are living on the streets and are not able to afford photos of themselves with their own children to walk away with a lifetime memory of prints. The event will be taking place during the first week of Dec., with the exact date still to be determined.

A CALL OUT FOR VOLUNTEERS:

Now what I am looking for is a Make-up Artist and Hair Stylist to volunteer their time that day to the moms so they can have that extra special treatment for their photo shoot. I want them to really enjoy the whole experience. So if you are willing to help out and offer up your talents, please send me an e-mail or call me and I'd be happy to give you some more details. I would really appreciate your help. :o) Know that you are making a difference to brighten up someone's day!!

I pulled out this old photo which I took eons ago in the New York subway (taken with my little 35mm Nikon F90X which I devloped and printed myself......kinda miss the days of using my shaved carrier in the enlarger to get that natural rough rebate border!)

What an exraordinary day! This super cool couple had a wedding day packed with LOTS going on. It all started while the guys and the girls both got ready at the downtown Marriott Hotel. With all the games and crazy stuff going on in their separate suites, Kimberley and Trevor and their bridal party were a blast to photograph!

Excited to be driving off to the ceremony! This was cute.....Kimberley made sure Trevor would get this card 1st thing in the morning.....the front of the envelope read: "P.S.- The envelope is kinda wrinkled because Mao decided to sit on it while I was writing your card"..........(Mao is their kittie cat!) (both photos by the super-talented Chris!)Games time !!!!!!

Super cute couple........Michelle & Vince were totally excited for their e-session and were up for anything. (Vince was super-excited to wear his especially cool sweater he bought just for the shoot......you'll see down below.....it had fur inside and everything!) Great shoot guys.......thanx!You will never guess where we took this image. We were all so hungry after our shoot, and so we decided to grab a quick bite at......okay.....I hate to admit this.....but......ahem.......we went to McDonald's.....*cough*.....(there! I said it!) (I'm not a meat eater so the fries looked good at the time). While we were sitting inside, I noticed this amazing light just outside and great photo op......so there you go, you can get great shots pretty much anywhere! (P.S. - we arranged it with the bird to fly by at that exact time)

A long distance relationship.........Fabio in sunny California........Sabrina in Toronto, but this beautiful couple were destined to come together in a truly amazing story. And so while Fabio was in TO only for a week, we took the opportunity to photograph their e-session. We had a great shoot.....(minus my thumbnail catching on fire....long story). Enjoy the photos!

Suzanna + Andy.....E-session

I knew Suzanna since she was a little girl at the age of 12. She is friends with and grew up with my nephew Vic as she lived on his street for many years...well...now little Suzanna is getting married! She is engaged to the sweetest man, Andy, who is quite the looker himself. I had a very easy time shooting these 2 as they are both stunning and very easygoing. Love these warm cuddle shots.......

We drove out to Hamilton to shoot at an old warehouse which Suzanna and her family own....so it was nice not to get kicked out of a really cool location for a change! This place has been used for many film sets, including the "Incredible Hulk" just last summer. It is huge! When they let me loose in there, my brain was going a kazillion miles per hour as I did not know where to shoot first!

Suzanna's eyes are stunning! She is an AMAZING hairstylist (contact me for her #.......you will love her!!) Andy is originally from Scotland. You have to hear his accent.....I love it!

They decided to get married in Jamaica......which I'm sure will be so much fun!!

This weekend I had Chris Luk come out as our 3rd photographer for Kimberly & Trevor's wedding, and it just so happened to be his birthday on that same day! Well.....I wanted to give Chris something he would never forget for his 22nd birthday, so I told him I wanted to take a "Birthday Photo" of him and took him to a back alley just before the reception. I had it all planned out......Glendon was my accomplice, and it worked out perfectly!!

Happy Birthday Chris! Hope you love lemon merange!

My 40th Surprise Birthday Party !!! (which I knew about)

Last week my closest friends and family celebrated the BIG 4-0 with me! (of course....I knew about it as I am not one to be surprised too easily.....I find out everything!) Even so, it was so special to have everyone under one roof. And my sister, Lily, who organized the whole thing, lovingly made sure that I had exactly 40 candles on the cake....plus 1 for good luck of course.Me and my friend Lina......who is always "peppy" and smiling!!Here are my nephews, Vic & Rob, and my brand spanking new neice, Marta! She has been married to Vic now for 2 months! Wow....it just seems like I photographed their wedding yesterday.Here's Glendon and I (my 2nd shooter), who I can thank for most of these photos (except this one of course......)I wasn't allowed to shoot, but I managed to sneak this one in of my very sweet friend Paola and her man Daniel. They are so amazing together!My photo friend Frank and IMe, my daddy and Argentina. My dad came from Dominican for Vic's wedding, and ended up staying an extra month just to be there for my Birthday..........thank-u daddy!! Love you.

But my most precious gift came a few days after my party, and right on my birthday of Oct. 1st. It started off with my usual 5k walk early in the morning. Then my good friend Paola came over and gave me a gift bag and a card. I was confused as she had already given me a gift at the party. Let me share a little of how I met Paola, who was so meant to be in my life.

Paula would "stalk" my blog often and was a devoted fan of my work. When her mom was diagnosed with cancer, she sent me an e-mail since she had remembered seeing a post on my blog about a health retreat I went to in Alberta. She was hoping to help cure her mom by natural means. I replied back to her and felt such a connection right away. (Still have our 1st e-mail) I had to meet her...and her mom. I assumed she lived so far away, but was surprised to learn that she was literally 8 min. from my home!

Her mom, Esther, is a very special woman. I was immediately drawn to her sensitive, gentle spirit. I wanted to see her more, and went over whenever I could get away from work. My friendship with Paola grew over time. I felt like I knew her forever! But sadly, I watched as Esther was progressively getter weaker and weaker. My heart was aching for her as I just wanted this disease to go away. But she was stronger than anyone around her....and even with all her pain, I never heard her complain....not even once. She really enjoyed it when I would go over and blow dry her hair.....and so did I! I had so much hope for her, but sadly, it was too much for her body to bare, and so Esther went to be with the Lord in July. Her faith kept her strong the entire time.

So, getting back to Paola's visit, as I read the card she had given me, I realized it was not from Paola, but from her mom, Esther, who had given her the words to write as she lay in the hospital just days before she left us. Paula was just waiting for the right time to give it to me. It read:

"Dearest Silvana ~

I want you to know what a blessing your presence and support has been in our lives. You are an incredible gift from God. Your prayers, freindship, advice and all the time you have taken out of your busy schedule to help my family and I has been much appreciated. I have also enjoyed all your wonderful blow-dries. I just finished watching the DVD you made for me. It is so beautiful, I just loved it! Please never forget the difference you have made in my life.

Till we meet again sweet friend,

Love Esther"

I know she is now in the best of hands.....with God who she loves so much. This woman was so special. As she lay in her hospital bed, now barely able to see, she asked for a pen and paper and wrote this special note for all her family & friends and signed it with an exclamation mark and double underscore:

Esther....I miss you very much....your inner and outer beauty radiates God's true love for us all....I have learned so much from you in the short while that I knew you. You made such a tremendous impact in my life. I could only hope that I would be half the incredible woman you were and make such a difference in other peoples' lives as you have.

Lin + Sam MARRIED!

This weekend was a very busy one for us. We documented Lin & Sam's beautiful 2-day wedding celebration. I could see the anticipation in their face leading up to this day.....and it was finally here. Surrounded by such close family & friends, many from as far as Hong Kong, Lin changed into many dresses, and the 1st was her beautiful formal red chinese wedding dress.

Here is Sam as we got a very early start to the day

Sam arrived at his wife-to-be's home in the morning and tried to enter to see her, but he had to prove his love for her in many different ways. One was offering money.....which was not enough for the girls to allow him to enter.
Then....he tried to answer questions which the girls asked, and if he got it wrong he would have to drink different potions and suck on lemons! Lin was in the washroom upstairs listening to the whole thing

Here is the 1st tea ceremony at Lin's home.......which continued later with a 2nd tea ceremony at Sam's home

We then arrived at Miller Lash House for an incredibly beautiful ceremony with stunning blue skies. Lin changed into her white wedding dress, as well as changing her make-up to match.

Fish bowl centrepieces were placed at all the tables. I swear these little fishes were giving me a look as if saying: "Please help me find a good home". Just look how sad they look in the photo. I know this might sound crazy....but I was really concerned about the fish going to good homes who wanted them. All of you who took a fishbowl home, please make sure you feed them real fish food, or you can pass them onto someone who is willing to maintain fish. Let the fishies live!!

This was hillarious.....there were many games during the night, and one of them was that Sam had to kiss many woman while blindfolded, and figure out which one was his bride. Well...his ushers posed as the women and kissed him one-by-one! You can see the surprised look on his face when he realized what was going on. :o) I hope you both have an amazing honeymoon......we had alot of fun documenting your fun-filled wedding!

Jenny & Jason 09.19.09

I really think these 2 get my "cutest couple ever" award. The day was shining with bright sun.......and we were surrounded with such wonderful people. All of their family and friends are a genuinely kind and loving bunch. Let's start with some morning photos........Getting excited about the hours aheadThis shot was not set up.....I turned around, and there it was. A simple photo of the bride's maids casually sitting watching all that was taking place. Jason risking his life for us near a construction site as the big Mack trucks flew by! Here is Jenny & Sherri.....Jenny's best friend, Matron of Honour and hairstylist, who did a wonderful job on Jenny's hair.....(love the fact that it was mostly down!)

A very beautiful and touching ceremony was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, a charming vintage church located in Oakville. Jason kept his eyes on his bride at all times!Immediately after the ceremony, Jenny & Jason hopped into the all-popular Triumph, rebuilt by Jason and his dad after many years of hard work....and just in time for the weddingLove the way the sun was dancing on the water

Here's Josh, Jason little brother. He seems shy at first, but once you let him loose on the dance floor......boy can he pull some dance moves!

Okay....so I under-estimated my time this week. I know that many of you are anxious to see Jennifer & Jason's wedding images as they were supposed to go up today, but I have been busy shooting weddings back-to-back all weekend, and quite honestly, I feel a little like a wet sock that's been dragged through the mud and then put through a grinding mill. Therefore, I was not able to post their images as of yet....but they will be up later in the day tomorrow! Hang tight! For now......here is 1 that I can show you. Lots more to come!

Layla + Matthew CRAZY IN LOVE!

Where do I begin to tell you about this day which turned out to be one of the most emotional weddings I have ever photographed. There were some pretty intense moments. These 2 are so in sync with each other.........and are so meant to be with one another. I saw tears....I saw joy....I saw laughter.....I saw excitement....I saw pure bliss......I saw families uniting....I saw a genuine thankfulness....I saw love. I'm sure you will be able to see it as well through the next set of images. (read on....I will share more in between photos)

Amazing capture by Glendon! Layla is just simply stunningHere is Sophia........our adorable little flower girl.I just loved this phone! (I told Matthew not to be surprised if he comes home one day only to find a big hole in the kitchen wall)Matthew looking dapper......:o) I just loved the pattern and texture in his suit........very different!

I love first looks before the ceremony.......it gives us a chance to really capture the emotion and intensity of first laying eyes on each other.During the ceremony things got really dramatic as Matthew read his own vows to his bride. Not only were they such beautiful....real words....but I really felt his heart as he struggled through them tearfully. (Don't worry Matthew....I will not post the "other" photo) :o)
This was cute.......even with mascara dripping down her cheeks.....Layla is still so beautiful

Every moment between these 2 was just so loving and carefree.....they are like 2 little school kids!

Not sure what was happening here......maybe the really interesting looking yellow and black spotted spider that was on me decided to jump onto Layla! I swear this thing was the size of my cat!

This was a total candid moment right after the ceremony. They hid away from the crowd in the bridal suite so they can be by themselves and soak in all the intense emotions of the moment. Yes....they shut the door behind them and it was really a special moment between Matthew, Layla and Me. Okay.....just Matthew & Layla........I was just a tiny little fly on the wall holding a very big camera. Nothing was said.....there was pure silence.....it was then that I saw these tears flow........

During dinner, Matthew planned to sing a special song to his new bride. Now....Matthew confessed that he is not a singer......and I must say it was mighty brave of him to sing "My Funny Valentine".....but I was quite impressed.........he did very well!

I have been taking other couples' photos for so long now, I've always wondered when it would be my turn. I would always look forward to the day when I can have my very own E-Session and I would finally be on the other side of the camera......well....here HE is.......my dream man!Don't we look so happy together?!!
(hmmm...he's thinning out already....he used to have such a full head of hair)
Alright.....so I'm still waiting. But a girl can dream can't she?

Since it wasn't happening, I kind of created my own guy with sticky notes. I thought we looked so good together, that I framed it!

(Looks like if it doesn't happen soon.....I'll be heading out to Staples to buy some more sticky notes so that I can have a couple of kids)

Rosanne + Robbie MARRIED!!

Okay.....I have been waiting for this wedding day to arrive as I knew there would be a spectacular array of details to capture, but it far surpassed my expectations. Get ready for LOTS of photos in this post. I could not hold back as it would not do justice to all of the intricate details I saw that day. Rosanne & Robbie were truly blessed with the most perfect weather for their stunning outdoor ceremony at the West River. Of course we went nuts with non-stop shooting! There was so much going on!
Gotta love the blue shoes Rosanne wore. Her entire wedding theme was Diamonds, Pearls and Peacock Feathers! How cool!!Rosanne is so creative....I requested she make me an interesting looking headpiece with an artistic flare that we can have some fun with........this is what she came up with......she made it herself! Her hair style was beautifully done by her sister, DanielaCaught the tie flip!very cool cufflinksBoys and their toys Rosanne's bridal gown was an authentic Lazaro

Okay......get ready for this. Some of you remember Rosanne & Robbie from my previous e-session post. She is the creator and owner of DiZennio Floral Boutique. (This poor girl worked until 1:00 am the night before her own wedding making sure her other jobs were done!) Well...her and her team "wowed" everyone with such gorgeous floral arrangements and details at the ceremony. Awesome job guys! Some of the decor was provided and arranged by Have a Seat

Don't worry Rosanne......I "photoshopped" all the mosquito bites on your back! See....all gone! (Poor girl was getting eaten alive!)

The stunning details continued to the lounge area and Grand Ballroom at the West River. Amanda at Ferri-Tale Weddings was on the ball with making sure everything went smoothly. The gorgeous cake was created by the very talented people at Papillon Cakes

I loved the idea of offering chow mein to the guests in the classic Chinese Take-Out boxes.
I really enjoyed working with Pouyan and Sam from Samo Weddings. (Love the sound of that Super 8 guys!) You guys rock!

A special thanks to Manuella, my 3rd Assistant.....great to have you help out and making Ava laugh on command!

I have been so busy with all the workload lately that I havn't had time to do my laundry. So I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and shoot Lin & Sam's e-session at the Laundromat. No....seriously.....I didn't do that! (hmmm...not a bad idea though....) :o) These 2 are cute as buttons. I loved all the looks we got from those doing their laundry......how funny!When they showed up at my place for the shoot, Lin realized that she forgot her jewellery at home.....well......good thing I'm a girl. (I think my silver necklace looks rather good with her outfit....don't you?) Lin just loved prancing around in her little wedding dress which she bought for the shoot. (this is not her real dress.....just a practice one.....I loved it!)

Fashion Shoot - Disegno Donata & Montana

Earlier this week we photographed a fashion shoot for Disegno Donata, a boutique of high quality, hand-crafted costume jewellery, and Montana - The Art of Makeup & Hair. The owners and artists, Trula, Filomena & Teresa did a fantastic job in putting everything together. They all have such an immense passion for what they do. A big thanks goes out to our gorgeous models Kezia and Krisandra, and also to Sara Bridal Fashion in Brampton for offering up their exquisite high-end gowns to us. It was a very long day.......but alot of fun!

Crystal Beach! (on my only day off)

Last week I tore myself away from work and went to visit my brother and his family at their cottage at Crystal Beach. It was great to just shoot for myself that day. Here's my sister-in-law Sonya.....sweetest sister-in-law a girl can have :o)For 2 1/2 months out of the year.....they sell their jewellery on the beach. Fresh air....sun....sand....they love it!Here's my neice, Carina. Doesn't she have the most stunning eyes and hair! Oh....and you have to hear this girl sing......she is only 15 and has the most incredible voice.Chelsea and Shelby agreed to be buried alive!!

This guys runs the town. :o) No, actually he is the owner of Charlie Boy's Snack Bar right on the beach. He is "the" Charlie! If your ever down here.....you have to check his place out.

Of course my dad prefers his good'ol fashioned tomato salad with hot peppers so hot they'll blow your nickers off! So here he is back at the cottage enjoying his lunch.
This is my nephew Cory. He's quite the jokester. He just bought this old polaroid camera from a yard sale. He was so excited to go buy some film and test it out. (hmmm....think he's taking after his Auntie a little???)
Okay.....this is classic. While walking back to the cottage, my dad swipes Cory's bike and starts riding it all over the neighbourhood! Look!!.......he even rides them with his "Nono tapinis" (translation: typical Italian grandfather sandels!)i love birdies........Since it was my daddy's 78th birthday that same day, we all went out to Rina's Italian Ristorante......love the food there!

It was a long drive back home......and since everyone in my family gets sick in the back seat.....guess who got the back seat? My dad drove my car back home. (by the way......both these 2 photos were taken at 10,000 iso.......hee..hee)

Okay......here it is......there's lots of new changes happening at Impulse, and one of the biggest is that I have made the big switch from Canon to Nikon! For those of you photographers who are loyal blog followers, there are many reasons why, but to avoid any Canon/Nikon debates.......let's just say that I am one happy girl!

Here's Glendon's reaction to what Nikon's incredible lighting system can do after taking some test shots today outside my home (with flash). No pocket wizards......no fussing.....1/8000 sec.....f2.8.....just smooth shooting. Let's just say that he is one happy boy! Mmmmm.....fun times ahead!!

I still can't believe it.....my little nephew...married! Go figure. Well, he definately found his princess bride. Marta is soooooo sweet, and so good for him. She looked absolutely "stunning" that day. He could not have found a more perfect and beautiful wife......from the inside out.

My cute little neice Lydia from Nova Scotia was commenting on how Marta looked like a real life "Barbie" dollthe sharp dressed man......he thinks he's so cool, but he's really not.........(just kidding Vic!........you know I love you)

A big thanks to my right-hand man Glendon and to my good friend Judy from Elementz of Fotographie who came out for the fun of it and was shooting along side with us. It was so much fun!! I was getting so emotional as I watched Marta come up the aisle and the way Vic was looking at her. It's a good thing that I don't have any tear production because I wouldn't have been able to shoot!

What a party! Wow.....I've never seen such a rowdy crowd before......I thought we were really going to get kicked out of the venue after part of the chandelier fell! You guys are animals!

I must say that Maryam & Ali had a very unique wedding.......of course with Maryam being an artist herself, I was kind of expecting it. It all started off with some photos in their loft (you might recognize this location from their e-session)
Love the shoes! Maryam pointed out how the heal looks light the Eiffel Tower!

Sheri Stroh did an incredible job on Maryam's make-up. She has worked with a variety of celebrities including Cate Blanchett, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Debbie Travis, and Chantel Kreviazuk. I highly recommend her to any bride getting marriedShe was just "playing" the camera.....I loved it!

Maryam & Ali saw each other before the ceremony for photos.....which turned out incredibly. This shot was taken just before they laid eyes on each other for the 1st time. (I wanted Ali to get all nervous and anticipate seeing his Bride) :o)

We headed off to the Edward Day Gallery for a very classy reception. Our wedding co-ordinator, the incredible Susan McCormick of Bliss Events, was there to make sure things were flowing smoothly. She worked very hard that day to acheive the dream wedding for our Bride and Groom! With much success!

This e-session took us all the way out to Muskoka, where we had a blast at Jason's home cottage.......complete with 2 speed boats.....2 hot tubs......tennis court.....and a private plane!! How yummy! When I saw the plane I knew we could get very creative.2 of my favorites.........
How adorable!! These 2 little baby robins fell out of the nest. Their mommy was nowhere to be found, so Jason and his siblings took them in and have been feeding them. As soon as you make a sound or move the nest, they open their mouth WIDE for food!

Love the fact that they can act silly as well :o)These 2 are so cute.......I teased them about how I wanted to "scrunch" them up in a little ball and put them in my pocket! This rare old "Triumph" is very special to Jason and his dad as they bought it many years ago and have restored it to almost brand new! Many hours of father/son bonding....!

Layla + Matthew = Awesome! What a shoot! A regular e-session unexpectedly turned into a full day event!

We started off in the downtown area.....and then they told me that they were up for some underwater shots. Well....I just couldn't pass that up, so I headed all the way back North to my studio to pick-up my underwater gear. It was well worth it!!

I normally sleep in a little the day after a long wedding, but on Sunday I actually got up early because I could not wait to see the images from Sabrina + Rob's wedding! How awesome! It was a super fun wedding and Glendon and I had the best bridal party ever!

Sabrina just before entering the churchI felt so bad after arriving at Sabrina's house and giving her a loving message that I got from Rob earlier that morning because it made her cry. She just burst out into tears! These 2 were up for anything......which I always love. I feel the creative juices flow when I know my couples are open to my sometimes "crazy" ideas
amazingly beautiful.....

This photo was taken while Rob was giving his speech. I have never seen anyone so natural and comfortable with the mike. He grabbed it and walked to the centre of the dance floor where he was in the spotlight, and gave an unforgetable, heartfelt speech to his parents which practically brought tears to my eyes.
Elvis was *in* the building! Actually.......this guy was incredibly good.......and I should know because I've seen my share of Elvis's in my career lifetime
Here is Rob and his father performing their famous "twist" dance. I was waiting for this all day! You have to see these two go......everyone cleared out the dance floor as soon as they started. All the men in the family, including Rob's brothers, are truly amazing dancers and can dance their pants off! I have to say that I was so impressed by their wedding cake which was truly a piece of art. The designer....and artist....is Alexandria Pellegrino, owner of Cake Opera Co. , a company devoted to "boldly original" and highly artistic cakes. If you see her line of wedding cakes, you would agree that she is a master at her craft with absolutely esquisite designs. She has won the "Wedding Co. Top Tier Challenge". She has even been printed in the highly exclusive Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine. I would recommend her to anyone planning their wedding!

Rob + Sabrina.....thanx for an amazing day and reminding me why I love my job so much!

I was really looking forward to Rosanne + Robbie's eng. session since we planned the day at Canada's Wonderland! We had a blast. I remember going there as a kid all summer long. These two are so sweet. Rosanne got us all passes......and I tried to stay away from the games and not give in to my addiction, but couldn't...so I had to play some. Confession......Glendon beat me at "Whack-A-Mole"....but I was sooooo close! Anyways, I thought I would post just one image from the shoot for now.......more to come later!

The very next day, I received a delivery to my home of a gorgeous arrangement of flowers from Rosanne thanking us for making them feel so comfortable. It was so sweet of her! I'm not kidding when I say I am blessed with the best couples ever! Rosanne is very talented herself. She is the succesful owner of Dizennio Floral Boutique in Vaughan and takes such care with her floral designs and customer service. She is a crazy perfectionist......just like me!

It was probably the hottest day of the year so far! But these two enjoyed their day and soaked it all in. I started off with Susan who was getting ready at the Hilton. She was excited and ready to go!Susan was all smiles the entire day! What a sweet, pleasant bride for a photographer to have.Beautiful shot by Glendon.....Here is Trula, Kypro's sister, putting on her make-up......and her eyelashes. She is also a make-up artist herself and did a fantastic job on Susan that day. Check her out at Montana Hair & Makeup We were lucky enough to have a Coca-Cola truck make a delivery to our hotel. I ran right to it! Kypros is not much of a "smiley" man......but I managed to catch him here!

It was meant to be that I work together with these two. Today I shot a rush e-session as their wedding date is coming up June 21st! It was a race against time as I was power-shooting before the thunderstorm hit......I made it half way before the skies turned black and we got rained on......but I was really happy with what we got!

I'm back from San Francisco! My purpose was to attend the One Light Workshop by the incredible Zack Arias, but I had one day to myself to do some exploring in the most beautiful city I have ever seen.....so off I went!

Of course I couldn't pass up the chance of photographing the popular Golden Gate Bridge at dawn

Don't even ask me how I got this shot......I can get crazy sometimesHere's Alcatraz. It was a very dark and strange feeling walking through the cells where the prisoners stayed. And in particular, standing in solitary confinement.

Inmates arrived on the "Rock" cuffed and shackled. Upon entering the cellhouse, they showered and then collected their prison-issue clothing.

Here is the amazing........and humble Zack Arias working on some images taken at the workshopTim & Shannon of "Round Top Photography" were kind enough to open up their home studio to us for the workshop. During class, I felt a furry thing brush up against me. It was "Turbinado"! Their adorable litty kitty. Of course, I couldn't stop photographing him after that. I must have about 50 shots of him alone! He's so sweet.And here is Courtney. A sweet, homeless man that I was destined to encounter at Pier 39. I ended up talking to him for at least 2 hours. He is the happiest man I've ever met, and just loves to sit by the pier and encourage people by telling them about God. He told me a story once of a lady who wanted to commit suicide by jumping of the bridge. He freely spoke to her about the Lord. He is just an amazing man full of smiles. He lives off his bike, and people have offered to put up a home for him, but he refused. He says he is the happiest doing what God called him to do.........and doing it on the streetsHere is his well-used Bible, which he reads to the Max!Okay.......so I get back to my hotel and walk past the vending machine. I had such a craving for Gummie Bears. So there they were. I put in my money, and was anxiously awaiting the dropping of the bears, but it stopped barely on the edge! It was being blocked by the Sun Chips! Here's a close-up of the ordeal. The poor Gummie Bears were hanging by a thread of it's life. Needless to say, I had to use my talented "tilt and shift" skills (after I made sure no one was looking)
Ahhhhhhh....sweet Victory !!

Here is Lombard Street.........the most crooked street in America!

Of course I had to feel the thrill of driving down this street with it's 8 sharp turns. It was pretty tight, but lots of fun!These are the stairs leading up the street. Wow....did my legs ever get a workout!

And here is Amanda. A sweet homeless woman living on the streets of San Francisco. We spend some time together and had lunch. She told me her story of how her young daughter was kidnapped and taken away from her. Her daughter was only 5. This was 6 years ago, and Amanda has not seen her since.

When Amanda was in front of the camera, she let her hair down and just loved the attention! So sweet.

One of my favorite parts of the whole trip..........the Sea Lions at Pier 39! How cute! I laughed as I stood there listening to all the barking they made as they slided on top of each other. Ha!

12 years ago I photographed Jessica + Jonathon....2 adorable little children who were 6 years old at the time. I recently was asked to take some updated photos of the kids........who are now 18! I just couldn't wait to see how they had grown. So I showed up at their home and was greeted by a tall, handsome man! It was Jonathon! And I couldn't beleive how Jessica had grown! She is a very sweet, beautiful girl. They are both so gorgeous. I just couldn't get over how much time has gone by. Here are some of their 1996 photos... and now their 2008 photos! (Even back then I was into the "grungy" ruins look)

Ahhhhh......the good 'ol days! I dug up the old negs and dusted them off. Do I miss the days of cutting and taping each neg onto appropriate Masks from A-E according to how much you wanted cropped?.......hmmmm........no. But then again, photoshop was never touched, and what you see is what you get!I had to scan these negs to even be able to put them on the blog. Back then, I shot most of my casual sessions in Sepia. The negs had a magenta colour to them. To get the sepia, I actually processed XP2 B&W film in C41 (colour). It's crazy when I hear that some photographers have never worked with, or even seen 2 1/4 inch negs! (I'm feeling really old now)How adorable? If you havn't noticed yet.....Jessica and Jonathan are twins, and she will tell you that she is very proud to be the eldest twin.........by a whole minute!! You can't see it in this photo, but Jonathon's teeth are still the same! I could not get over how much he reminded me of David Blaine! (the magician). His voice and entire demeanor were identical! It was crazy! (by the way......just kidding about the teeth thing.......ha! :o)

And here is mommy. Maria is exactly how I rememberd her. She was all laughs when we got to this point.
Freddy is originally from the Dominican Republic. A very calm, sweet gentle man. Him and Maria are perfect together.

Talk about couples that are "meant to be", these 2 are so cute together. I had alot of fun walking the streets with them and just shooting wherever. The big day is coming up in June! (Susan + Kypros are extra special because they love my cats!) I absolutely adore this photo of Susan.........isn't she beautiful? Trula Finch of Montana did a fantastic job on Susan's hair and make-up. (She is also Kypros's sister!)

Now this was funny....while I was on the ground fiddling around with my wireless, the camera went off accidently and took this photo......I love it!!

That's meeeeeee! While Kypros was handling a business call, I kept myself occupied.These 2 really are a fun-loving couple.........and so meant for each other.

It's time!! My nephew is finally getting married! You will probably remember this couple from my "Something Different" session where they got dressed in bridal attire and went underwater for the camera. Well, their date is coming up....08.02.08.....and I can't wait! I thought I would give them some updated photos since I love working with these 2 so much and they are always up for anything......so here they are! (I will be posting lots more from this shoot soon...so keep watch)I brought them to the "grungiest" part of town, and while eyebrows got raised at first, they totally trusted me and I was able to pull off these images. And I finally got to "officially" break-in my TS lens which I am totally in love with now! After that, we hit the downtown scene
When we were wrapping up the shoot and loading the equipment in my car, I saw them warming up in their car and envisioned this image in my head, so I "fine-tuned" a few things to bring out the mood and captured it. Needless to say, it ended up being my favorite shot of the day! Can't wait for August guys!

Under the weather

I have been dealing with a heavy case of Bronchitis (on the verge of pneumonia) since I got back from Vegas. It has wiped me out completely. I have been doing so much traveling this past while, and I guess it's caught up with me. I'm always on the run, but now I am forced to rest and be still and do nothing. (which is the hardest thing for me because I'm a "doer"). I've had lots of time to reflect and think about "life" stuff. I believe this illness has actually done me alot of good.....if that makes any sense. Sometimes we need to pull back and just be still.

For those who know me well, you know that I'm not a believer of taking antibiotics for the little things. And although pnemonia is not neccessarily little, I still believe in the "natural" methods of healing without side effects. So....I've started drinking LOTS and LOTS of boiled gingeroot (a natural antibiotic) and whole cloves. This stuff is amazing! I have felt much better since I'm drowning myself in it. It really works! I am healing really nicely. (If you'd like, you can e-mail me for the full receipe).

Plus, my sister dropped off a delicious home-made vegetable soup with pastina, and brought some groceries for me (since I had run out of food). A little love goes a long way.

(P.S. - I'm trying to teach my eldest cat to bring me a glass of water.....but he's not doing it :o(

I'm speechless.....WPPI Awards

I've just returned from attending the WPPI Convention in Las Vegas where I received 13 Awards of Excellence and 3rd Place International Award for my "American Gothic Chicken". (special thanks to my couple Vanessa & Simon for willing to chase a chicken with me.) I am still in shock as this was my 1st time entering into any competition, so placing 3rd was totally unexpected. I am humbled....and I thank God for this strong passion He has given me, and for making this happen. (I prayed over every print before entering it, and beleive this is the only reason why I won!)

Also, I connected with so many incredible people. It was great to "hang" out with those that I met for the very first time, and those I knew quite well. I was humbled to be around the presence of such talented and well-known photographers (and videographers) from around the world! What an unforgetable experience. Thank-you!

Life is So Precious

It really amazes me how everyone's life is so unique. Different jobs...different cultures...different upbringings...different struggles...different hurts and different joys. But I believe we all share something in common, that is, God has breathed life into each one of us, and has a purpose and plan for all of us....no matter how small we think we are. We are so important to Him. We mean the world to Him. That is incredible.

Back from Dominican !!

What a week! I planned a surprise visit to my father who has been living in the Dominican Republic for 10 years now. I decided to just "show up" in front of his home. Needless to say....he was shocked! I challenged myself not to take any photos on this trip.....so I shot video instead! It was my 1st time holding a video camera....and 1st attempt at editing, so please forgive my skills. I had so much fun shooting this!! My dad is getting up there in age, so I will cherish this moment forever.

I was so excited to finally reach my dad's home.....but he wasn't there! So I waited in the bushes for 45 min. until I saw his little red car drive by. Then I ambushed him! He was like a deer caught in headlights! His smile at the end was priceless. I love him so much. Here's the video!

My Night with John.....

Well...It's been 1 year....almost to the day....since I met John. I never did post this story in my blog, but I have been thinking about John alot lately, especially with the cold winter we are having here in Toronto, and so I thought I would share this with you now. (Scroll down for story and more photos)

While on a business trip to San Antonio, Texas, I had the opportunity to meet John......a sweet man living on the streets of San Antonio. I was so drawn to him. God put it on my heart to ask him to join me for dinner. John accepted my invitation. He was the sweetest, most sincere man I've ever met. He was humble and shy. His voice was so calm and soothing.

Noticing the worn clothes on his back, I asked John if he would like to go shopping for some new clothes. He accepted! So off to Macy's we went on a huge shopping spree!! What a great time we had! When it came time to say goodbye, we left each other in front of Macy's. He went one way, and I the other. I got to my hotel room (20 min. walk), only to realize that I had one of his clothing bags with his new jeans! I immediately took off running....where, I didn't know...I only vaguely remember him saying that he lived under a bridge around St. Mary's street. I ran for blocks, in the rain, praying that I would see those BIG white "Macy's" bags somehow in the dark. So much time had gone by, and I didn't know where I was running, but I was so happy when through the crowd, I saw 2 huge white "Macy's" bags!! And then I got a glimpse of a long, dirty trench coat, and a man with grey & white, scraggly hair. I couldn't believe it! I was out of breath when I caught up with him.

Now standing outside a McDonald's....he graciously asked me if he could buy me a coke. He wanted to buy "ME" a coke?? I accepted. I knew that my night with John was not meant to be over yet. We sat and talked about so much.

Now it may sound like John was blessed by this, but truthfully, I was the one who was blessed. I wanted to share this with you....this is not about me....this is about someone we would normally pass on the streets, which I have done so many times, but I am so glad that I had the opportunity to get a glimpse into this sweet man's soul....which resulted in a wonderful evening.

I believe success is measured in a different way...not the typical world's way of material posessions and status, but who we are on the inside when life doesn't quite go the way we would like it to. John's kind heart taught me that. He was not a bitter man.....only a humble and very loving man.

--- I was truly blessed .

While I believe that giving money as we pass someone living on the streets is helpful, I would encourage anyone next time to maybe speak to them, or even have a coffee with them. You will be surprised at how your thinking will change in alot of areas........and they will not forget the time you spent with them....which means so much more than a few coins.

---What an AWESOME night! I will always remember "MY NIGHT WITH JOHN".

I know it's been a while since my last post.......shame on me. I've been frantically trying to process my last few wedding orders. Well, last night I was playing around with my new flash accesories when Wuffi decided that he wanted to be my model (he's been bugging me for some updated photos lately). He's such a "poser" and was just soaking it up! He just loved his private photo session.......and I got to test out my new lights! Can't wait to use them this season!!

Back from Nova Scotia !!

I took a 2 week break out in Nova Scotia where the air is fresh! I needed to rest my eyes from computer overload and the craziness of the season. My sister and her family live just outside of Halifax, so it was great to connect again and see how the kids have grown! (Alot of the following photos were taken with my point-and-shoot since I hadn't planned on shooting, and so didn't bring my entire gear with me....but I had to shoot...couldn't help it!)

Somehow I always experience the really neat stuff........like being there just in time to see "Noel" wreak havoc. I thought the house was going to come down! Here's a shot I took in Queensland, NS.

During the last day of my stay, I took the car and started driving. Where? I don't know. I wanted to be surprised. And I needed to shoot again since I was feeling a little deprived. Well....I experienced so many things along the way, and met lots of kind people. It was just beautiful! This is the bottom part of the Bay of Fundy. The tides come in and out......and when there out.......they leave quite an interesting display of PURE MUD.I had such a great conversation with a farmer, and the owner of these vintage tractors, which he still uses! Eugene was such a sweet man who so happily gave me the entire history of all his equipment! (I'll try to post a photo of him later). The middle one is a 1964!This is by far the largest Rubix Cube I've ever seen !Mr. Cow kept a close eye on me in case I got too close to his herd. And here is sweet Bianca. (She was practicing for Halloween night)

Now Darius was quite interesting. The last time I saw him, he could barely walk on his own. Now he can read this entire book in one day! He has a collection of books, really thick ones, which he reads in less than 2 days!

And so it's Halloween......I don't normally participate in this, but the kids were really looking forward to their Auntie walking with them. Well, my sister walked, and I took photos!

As you can see......we had a "Wizard of Oz" theme going on. My sister was quite creative in making all of their costumes....from scratch!
And here's Darius as the "Tin Man". (Poor guy could barely move)

My sister's town has a population of 3,000. It's a beautiful town with friendly people. (Whom I kept seeing over and over again as I walked).And very trusting people I might add........this apple stand was left unattended all day!Now this was funny. On my last day there as I drove all across NS, I quickly stopped for a delicious hot Lobster Bisque, only to come out and see this! I just laughed as I tried to get in through the passenger's side. You could barely fit a pencil in between the cars! (God has such a sense of humor!)

Saturday's wedding took me out to Niagara-on-the-Lake where we enjoyed a gorgeous fall day with Terri & Frank! After 8 years of dating, their family were quite happy to see these 2 finally get married.
And here's our cool-looking groom........FrankI just loved the warm weather that day.... Terri was so happy to be wearing her comfy "Jessica Simpson" shoes! I caught the kids sharing a special moment outside the chapel just before the ceremony. (A little too young maybe????)
Guess how this shot was taken......Mmmmm.......I'm not telling!Alright.....I'll tell you......it was actually shot through a Rolls Royce with the reflection of the sky caught in the window. The tinted glass acted as a natural filter to darken an already spectacular sky!! My favorite time of year. Terri and Frank are the "sweetest" couple. I had a relaxed, intimate day with Elena & Tehseen who are so cute together. It was nice to see Elena's family again, who's sister, Lucy, and her husband, Nelson, are former clients of mine. (And son, Daniel, who is so adorable). Elena, wore a very unique dress with some red in it to match Tehseen's suit.

A man and his goat...Mr. Billy Goat wasn't done with playing around with me yet. He was soooooo cute....I wanted to take him home with me! :o) (Shot by Rebekah!)Precious.....Tehseen lived North of Toronto on a beautiful, quiet farm (with lots of critters running around). This barn made for a perfect backdrop.I had these 2 all to myself! With no bridal party, we had lots of time to shoot, and just packed it up before the rain started pouring down! It was a special day for Maria & Robert who flew in from Atlanta, Georgia for their wedding in Toronto. They were surrounded by their loving family & friends who all came together at their 3:00 ceremony.

Maria was extremely relaxed and just soaked up every moment of the day. She is a very kind-hearted doctor who's patients would only be too blessed to have her as their physician

And here's our groom......he's so cute. Robert is also well-respected and so easy-going.

I have been waiting for this day a long time. Everything was perfect for Priscilla & Jesse's wedding. It was a sweet...emotional day....even for me! These 2 truly belong together.

Jesse was so excited in the morning. He was at the door with a HUGE smile on his face! This shot was taken when the sun was just starting to come out and it was "peeking" across his backyard shed.

And there it is! The All-Famous "Groom Mobile"!

The rings.....Priscilla looked absolutely gorgeous. She really is a sweet girl with a tremendous love for the Lord.

Now this is where I got emotional. Jesse was singing to his bride as she walked up the aisle with her father. It was a song that he wrote himself.

Now I just loved this idea. Jesse got permission to shoot aboard a sailboat in downtown Toronto. I just had a "field day"!

Maria + Robert - Eng. Session

I don't think I have enough blog space to write about Maria & Robert. But let me fill you in a little. Maria contacted me and booked me from Atlanta, Georgia for her wedding coming up Sept. 22nd. We spoke on the phone....many times...and have developed a special relationship. She is one of the sweetest people I've ever met! I felt like I've known her forever, and I couldn't wait to finally meet her and Robert in person for the very 1st time! (keep reading down...)

So anyways.....this week we finally met and photographed their engagement session. Robert is such a good man. I immediately connected with him also. Here are some of their photos from the session.

Maria wore a Sari for the session.....she brought many coloured ones! I just love that they are so intricatly made, with such vibrant colours! She is so beautiful.

Here is Robert giving me his "cool" pose :o)I just LOVE this shot of Maria. When I was shooting it, what came to my mind was how God listens to our prayers when we call out to Him

After speaking to Maria a few times from Atlanta, I received this in the mail.....along with a DVD of the movie "Born Into Brothels". This special note was written on the DVD case. She just knew I would love it.......AND I DID! I highly recommend this movie. It is so special to watch....very real and emotional. It is amazing what these children can do with a camera in their hand.....when they had never seen one before! When I received this, I was so touched....Maria has such a special heart. If I could cry at the time....I would have (I actually lost my tears about 2 years ago). Long story.

Robert moved to Atlanta from New York to be with Maria. It was really neat to sit down with these two and hear their story of how they met. Very cute......

Gosia was so easy to photograph. Very relaxed....she made for a beautiful bride. And thanks to her super-cool father.....and my new buddy!.....for proudly showing me his recently completed basement where I took this photo.Gosia lived in the outskirts on a peaceful farm setting......ahhhhh....I tried to breathe in all the fresh air while I could!Here is Rod in his uniquely furnished home! These two have the best taste in colour choices and decor.....I just loved it.....and so did my camera.

What a busy weekend! Friday's wedding brought us out to Brighton, Ontario. Vanessa & Simon had a very beautiful and unique wedding. One important life fact I learned.....I never knew how hard it is to catch a chicken until today!

I started salivating when I walked up the stairs to the barn where Vanessa was getting ready. How awesome!!

They focus on the smallest details.

Something Different.......

What an amazing shoot yesterday! I had 2 brides volunteer to go out and let me take some unique photos in their wedding dresses! Thank-you Mary & Marta for allowing me to do what I wish with you! Mary is actually a former bride who's wedding I photographed last year......and Marta is an upcoming bride. You'll see Marta's future hubby, Vic, in these photos also. I had loads of fun guys! Enjoy!

It all started off like this.......

I had many offer their services for this shoot. A special thank-you to Cathy & Roxanna at Picaso Studios for their INCREDIBLE job with the girls' hair & make-up. You guys are awesome! Definately the best in the City. Your patience and detail to everything made all the difference. They also provided us with all the jewellery & accessories. They have some beautiful pieces!

If I can sum up Anna & Nick's wedding in 3 words, it would be Classy, Genuine and simply Beautiful. What an awesome couple! All of their hard work and planning resulted in the wedding day of their dreams. (I know how meticulous you both are, so thank-u for trusting me with capturing this special day for you! How cute is Nick??

Over 500 guests were there to witness the ceremony which was held in the Artifacts Room at Liberty Grand.........how gorgeous. Not one detail was missed! And I must say that the talented people at Celebration FX did a fantastic job with the decor.

Okay....I have to tell this story. During the ceremony, Nick explained how he wanted to do something special for Anna, but that he could not sing or play an instrument.....so.....he purchased an old guitar and went on-line and learned how to play and sing. He performed for all of us and sang "Grow Old With You" from the movie "The Wedding Singer". It was so cute!! And he did a great job. What courage!

Now this was beautiful, Anna & Nick also had a Korean ceremony. Love the colours!

Cory from Serendipity Video was alot of fun to work with. I have seen some great work from him and his team. (However, I did think he was going to get us killed when we were filming each other while driving on the QEW! Your crazy Cory!)

Fun with a Vespa !

I knew this shoot was going to be alot of fun! I can't say enough about Priscilla and Jesse. They recently visited Italy and wanted to bring back those Vespa memories. Thanks to Vespa Markham for trusting us with their Vespa!The day of this shoot....July 5th...was an extra special day because it was also Priscilla & Jesse's 5th year anniversary!Now this was so cool......Jesse brought his guitar and as we were walking to our shooting location, he just broke out in song! Praising God! And he was singing one of my favorite songs too! What an awesome voice. This whole scene sent "chills" up my spine.Priscilla is so cute :o) You know.......I don't know what it is with me and red ants, but as I was taking this shot in the high grass, I once again got attacked by red ants! They leave nasty bite marks that last a while. (The last time was in Dominican a few months ago!) It was painful....but well worth the shot!

Well......it was the BIG 7.7.7. and Lisa & Chris's wedding was much anticipated. They really are a genuine couple with gentle spirits.

Now this couple were so awesome! They were up for anything and Lisa had no hesitations whatsoever about lying down in the grass. (Hmmm...I should have done my bridal "mud" shot which I have always wanted to do) :o)

What a weekend! I photographed weddings both Saturday and Sunday....and have now had a chance to recuperate. So here are some shots from Maria & John's wedding which was packed with LOTS of celebration!
The rings......Here's one my 2nd photographer, Rebekah, took on the way to church. I love it! We had the most perfect, dramatic sky for this shot. Maria made a beautiful bride......and she was quite calm the entire day.

This guy was doing such a great job with the Saganaki! (Hope I spelled that right). It's a delicious fried cheese......very salty!
I love these dancing shots! We just had a blast at night with all the Greek dancing going on.

What a pleasure being a part of Tina & Mariano's wedding. The entire day went smoothly.....and I felt they really savoured every moment of it.

One thing about Tina & Mariano.....they interact really well together and love to get "squishy".

Christina + Anthony - Wedding

What a day! Christina & Anthony had an early ceremony.....11:00! So we had LOTS of time for some fun shooting.

While we were shooting dowtown....we came across a group of people who were giving out "free hugs". Of course our guys got in on the action. Christina definately gets the 2007 Smiley award.........she was so happy all day!

Now this was interesting. As we walked along a pathway, I noticed a HUGE, JUICY worm. I told the girls to be careful not to step on it as they walked by. Well....Rob....one of our groom's men picked it up.........and ATE IT !! The whole thing! What a site to see! This is not the original worm, which was fatter and much juicier, so I had my 2nd photographer, Elise, dig up another one. YUK! Apparantly, at Anthony's stag, Rob also ate 3 goldfish.(poor little fishies...:o( (Remind me to keep him away from my cats...)Cute Michael.......

Downtown is so amazing....we stumbled upon this yellow garage door which worked out perfectly.

Okay.....there's a storey behind these shoes. When Anna & Nick arrived at my studio, Anna realized that she had forgotten her other shoes at home! Well...I believe that God always supplies our needs.......so those are MY shoes she's wearing!

Franca and Adam are to be married this Sat. June 16th! I was in heaven for their shoot because I discovered this new shooting spot by accident! I think at first they thought I was strange when I took them to this location.....but they loved the results later! I designed an incredible 22 x 60 Storeyboard Portrait for their wedding day which I will post later.

Love the tunnel!.......... I thought this old barn would actually make a great starter home :o) Me and Adam were thinking of a plan on how to take the beams!

Michelle and Mike are to be married Sept. 2nd of this year. They seemed excited to finally have their engagement session....and are so cute together. This is one of my favorite shots!Mike....see....we did manage to get some "non-squinting" shots! This couple are great on spontaneous shots!

When we were done with our shoot and driving away, we saw a mommy duck with all her little ducklings behind her crossing the road.........how cute!!! (Mike, I was wondering why you had abrubtly stopped in the middle of the road) How precious......I just wanted to take them all home! (Reminded me of my pet duck when I was a little girl)

My Dominican Experience !

I'm back from Dominican! I went to visit my father who has been living there for many years now. It was meant for relaxation....but of course....once I had my camera in my hand, I couldn't stop. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a 5-star resort type of girl......I'd rather stay where the locals are and experience more of the culture first-hand. And besides getting attacked by red ants during my sleep....all went well. Here are some of my photos.....I hope you enjoy them!

Dominicans are so friendly....they didn't mind me coming into their homes at all. It's like I was part of the family.

What a cute doggie! My heart went out to him. He was very sad...no-one paid any attention to him or his need for food.

This weekend I had the pleasure and honour of documenting Daniela & Diego's wedding. And I've been so looking forward to it! Diego is originally from Spain.....which is where they met. Daniela will be moving from Toronto to live in Spain! How courageous. We'll miss you guys!
